Benitachell Information

The beautiful mountain of Cumbre Del Sol is home to a growing population of expats from all over Europe and some from even further because of its magnificent views to the sea and surrounding mountains. On a clear day the islands of Formentera and Ibiza can be seen. The mountain is on a peninsula on the east coast of the Costa Blanca between Moraira to the south of it and Denia to the north of it.

As well as magnificent walks across the top, it also forms the home of a fabulous and most photographed beach called Moraira to one side of it and a natural cave for deep diving.

Cumbre enjoys its own Micro Climate as do the Bernia Mountain range to the east and weather patterns can be seen forming here from Cumbre.


Towards the northern side of the mountain are restaurants, a chemist and a decent sized supermarket.. At the foot of the norther side is the small and quaint town of Benitachell where a local infant and junior school, doctors surgery, library and a number of shops and banks can be found.

Also on the north side of the mountain is the much acclaimed and respected private international school, Lady Elizabeth currently undergoing a massive extension.

To the south side the entrance/exit leads to Moraira (5 mins by car), Teulada (10 mins) and a host of pleasant beaches, bars and restaurants - also many banks.

We are about 200 Metres above sea level so quite Tsunami-safe!
